Sydney – 14 April 2025 – Canopius Group, a leading global specialty and P&C (re)insurer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Ziolkowski as the new Head of Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), effective October 25.
Andrew will report to SK Lee, CEO for APAC and MENA at Canopius.
Andrew Ziolkowski brings over 28 years of experience in insurance and financial services, having held senior positions across customer, product, underwriting, claims, actuarial, analytics, and regulatory management. Andrew most recently served as Chief Underwriting and Transformation Officer at QBE Insurance, before which he was Group Executive of Insurance for New South Wales (NSW Self Insurance Corporation). Andrew has also held various executive positions at IAG/Wesfarmers Insurance and Zurich Financial Services.
In his new role, Andrew will be responsible for the development and execution of Canopius’ strategy within the ANZ and APAC region, creating shareholder value while managing day-to-day operations. He will lead the ANZ business units, ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, and build key relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Andrew will be taking over from Craig Elliot, who has served as interim head of the Australia business since December 2024. Craig will continue at Canopius as the Head of Casualty for ANZ, and will also take on the newly created role of Head of Distribution for ANZ.
