LONDON – 06 September 2021 – Canopius Group, a leading global specialty (re)insurer, today announced the first in a series of appointments to strengthen its Credit & Political Risk team.
Patrick Sheriff will join Canopius as Credit & Political Risk Underwriter on 6th September and report to Stephen Pike, Head of Credit & Political Risk. He previously served as Credit & Political Risk Underwriter at Chaucer Singapore, supporting the development of Chaucer’s global political risk underwriting business. He brings broad experience across the London and Singapore markets to Canopius.
Data scientist Jeremy Hatchuel has been appointed as Portfolio Analyst, effective immediately, and will also report to Stephen Pike as part of Canopius’ Political Risk team in London. Hatchuel will support the expansion of Canopius’ portfolio solutions, particularly for large, structured pools of credit risk, and help further develop Canopius’ digital solutions for political risks.
These carefully targeted hires reflect Canopius’ ambition to provide market-leading service and follow a period of extensive innovation, with new highly structured CPR products now available, tailored for capital markets, diverse portfolios and other complex risks. Further underwriting, technical support and other appointments will be made to Canopius’ CPR team this year due to help meet growing demand for its products and services.
